The Aquarium & Museum of Maritime Tradition offers: Exhibition of Fish, Ship Models, Antique Items Collection, Old Diving Department, Malacological Collection and Arauzon.
The Fish exhibition will enchant you and give you the feeling that you have plunged into the Adriatic. You can see more than 100 species of fish and crustaceans, which are exposed in 17 swimming pools.
Ship models will showcase traditional Croatian shipbuilding, ship models and international ship and boat models.
Ancient objects will evoke valuable items (cargoes) carried by ships and, due to many shipwrecks, they ended up at the bottom of the Adriatic Sea, to be later found and transferred and preserved in the museum.
Old diving suits will showcase the skills and traditions of diving craft from that period.
The malacological collection will acquaint museum visitors with shells and snails residing in the Adriatic.
Arauzona presents visitors to Velika Mrdakovica - a Liburnian city and a necropolis.
The museum is located in the city center, on the shore of the main port. The exhibits are interesting for all ages, especially for the youngest. This is a great place to visit with families with children but also others - who love historical details and interesting stories from the past. The museum will evoke and show you the richness of the Adriatic, especially the diversity of fish species, shells and other creatures that inhabit it.
