National Park North VelebitNational Park North Velebit was proclaimed on June 9, 1999 and on July 7, 2017, along with the Paklenica National Park and Nature Reserve Hajdučki and Rožanski kukovi, it was entered into the UNESCO World Heritage list in Europe as part of of the common world heritage of 13 countries called "Barking forests in the Carpathians and other areas of Europe." In Northern Velebit NP, there are 1289 hectares of beech forests, which is an integral part of the natural reserve "Hajducki and Rožanski hips". The park is recognizable by the karst landscape, but also the diversity of animal and plant world. Thanks to this beautiful relief, which is very demanding for hiking and hiking, Northern Velebit NP is a real natural challenge for many nature lovers.
Within the imaginative boundaries of the park there is already mentioned the natural, strictly preserved Hajdučki and Rožanski hips. In the Northern Velebit National Park there is Lukina Jama, which is one of the deepest pits in the world, and was discovered only recently (in 1999).
