Čigoč is a village in the Republic of Croatia, in the central part of the Lonjsko polje, the village with the highest birth nests in one place in Croatia, which is also called the village of the genus. The European Foundation for the Protection of Natural Heritage, Euronatur, proclaimed in 1994, Čigoč, the first European village of origin. Today in the Čigoča area there are 35 nest genera, of which 30 are active. The Lonjsko Polje Nature Park is the largest protected wetland area in Croatia and one of the largest wetland habitat in Europe. Čigoč village is 100km away from Zagreb.
