Since the death of world renowned basketball player Dražen Petrović on June 7, 1993, his heritage lives in memory of millions of basketball fans, but also of sports in general.

Dražen Petrovic was born in Croatia, in Sibenik on October 22, 1964, and unluckily ended his life in Denkendorf on June 7, 1993. He was a famous Croatian basketball player in the world because of outstanding sports achievements.

He was one of the greatest Croatian and world basketball players. He started his career with only 15 years of age, we can say by accident, when the coach of the first-team club Šibenka put it into play. In this game Dražen presented the public, which recognized the extraordinary toy skills of then-not-well-known basketball players. An incredible talent and unusual workmanship could not be missed by top experts. Already at that time many predicted a top career for a young basketball player, which happened.

Dražen Petrovic was among the top 50 who contributed most to Euroliga. For this reason, we consider him one of the greatest Croatian athletes of all time. Drazen Petrovic is the leader of a European basketball winner in the NBA.

Museum Memorial Center Dražen Petrović is an institution that celebrates all the sports achievements and the best basketball player of all time. We have been tempted to offer our visitors an unforgettable experience - to once again recall Drazen, to look after his life and his achievements in sports.

The Museum-Memorial Center is officially opened on June 7, 2006.

The institution was opened by the joint efforts of the Dražen Petrovic Foundation, in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the City of Zagreb and the Croatian Sports Museum. The museum was the idea of ​​Dražen's parents (Biserka and Joleta Petrović), and was designed by famous architects Andrija Rusan and Nikša Bilić.

The museum has inspired many generations to date. It gives hope and faith to possible achievements, the power to continue and desire for the goal. The sport legend, like Dražen Petrovic, still motivates many - both in sport and in private life. Let's not forget, Drazen Petrovic was a great athlete and a bigger man.
