The Rupe Ethnographic Museum is located at Od Rupa 3, Dubrovnik, on the site of a former granary.

The granary was built in 1590, with a completely different function, to be remodeled today for the needs of the Museum. The building was subsequently renovated and the necessary arrangements were made to serve the needs of the Museum. The ground floor of the building was left in its original edition, and long-constructed wells were opened inside the building, fenced in by a fence for architectural emphasis.

The permanent exhibition in the museum consists of exhibitions of the traditional culture of the Dubrovnik region. On the first floor there are exhibited objects that present economic and material culture. The second floor exhibits spiritual culture items: folk costumes, textiles, folklore, lace, and exhibits that show local customs.

Remodeling the old granary into today's museum lasted from December 1987 to October 1989. Today, the museum covers an area of 1263 square meters, displaying various items, collections and occasional exhibitions.

The main museum collection exhibits specimens of lace pieces of folk costumes from the Dubrovnik area. Not only lace from Croatia is exhibited, but also laces and old costumes from neighboring countries, such as fragments of women's headbands, busts, sleeves, collars and similar items. Among the exhibited items we would like to emphasize the Konavle women's headgear (covers) from the 19th century. They are decorated with a distinctive white embroidery, and lace on a needle. There are also pistons, presented in a permanent display.

In the deep silos at the museum, called Rupe, dug in stone and coated with some impregnated mass that keeps the cereals at a temperature of 17 degrees Celsius, the former Republic of Dubrovnik kept all the state reserves of wheat, barley and millet.

The first floor shows the traditional economy of the Dubrovnik region and rural architecture. The second floor features costumes and handicrafts.
